The ×ÔοÊÓƵ alumni family grew by nearly 1,300 new graduates as the university held its summer commencement. The accomplishments of the Summer Class of 2021 were recognized with in-person, outdoor commencement ceremonies and a virtual commencement ceremony for all colleges and degrees on Aug. 21.

Five ×ÔοÊÓƵ graduates will compete at the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics over the coming weeks, breaking the school’s previous record of four Olympians at the Munich Games in 1972.

×ÔοÊÓƵ Athletics has announced all sports facilities, including Dix Stadium, the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center) and Murphy-Mellis Field, will be at full capacity for the fall 2021 sport season.

Update: The Global Vaccine Poem project is finding success with more than 1,900 submissions so far from more than 100 countries. The project is a collaboration between the Wick Poetry Center and the University of Arizona Poetry Center. 

×ÔοÊÓƵ President Todd Diacon announced a massive, first-of-its-kind new student aid program that focuses on getting even more ×ÔοÊÓƵ Golden Flashes to graduation, and beyond.

Guacamole and chips are frequently on the menu of social gatherings for many ×ÔοÊÓƵ students, staff and faculty. However, President Todd Diacon says that the delicious creamy dip also holds a life lesson about expanding our worldview.

While most 18-year-olds are finishing up their high school requirements for graduation and making plans to attend college or applying for jobs, a few exceptional students like Benjamin Mudrak are simply way ahead of their peers in their academic pursuits.

Students wearing graduation caps and gowns will once again grace the campus as ×ÔοÊÓƵ celebrates its newest graduates and marks the return of in-person commencement ceremonies for the first time since December 2019.

Members of the ×ÔοÊÓƵ community and people around the world will gather virtually for the 51st Commemoration of May 4, 1970, the day the Ohio National Guard fired on ×ÔοÊÓƵ students during an anti-war protest, killing four students and wounding nine other students.

×ÔοÊÓƵ’s Exploratory Program in University College has been awarded two prestigious national awards for its work with exploratory students.
